Tonight is the night we have been waiting for that we didn’t know we were waiting for. Yes, you read that correct. The 2020 season has been a roller coaster. Tennessee’s governor and Sullivan County officials agreed to allow many fans attend the All-Star race at the popular short track. 20,000 fans are expected to be in attendance when the green flag waves at 7 PM tonight for the All-Star race at Bristol. A non-points race at a short track under the lights? I believe we’re in for an exciting night!
As if this race couldn’t already get any better, NASCAR recently confirmed that drivers who are already locked into the All-Star race will feature underglow lighting beneath the cars.
Before we get to the race day picks, I want to welcome the newest member to Wingman Sports. Kathryn has a strong background in public relations and marketing. She will be mostly on the business side of things, but every now and then you’ll see her here at Wingman-Sports.com and she will be included in our NASCAR Cup Series race day picks.
Bristol All-Star Race Day
Wingman Sports has made our race day picks. Here they are:
Kathryn – Our newest member, Kathryn, says Martin Truex Jr. will take home the big win tonight. Truex has one win so far in the 2020 season. He will start from the pole tonight at Bristol Motor Speedway. He will certainly be one to keep an eye on as he is a big contender anywhere he goes and he is still after his first All-Star win. The last time Truex gained a top-ten finish at this track was back in April of 2017.
Brittany – My friends will love and probably laugh at this because I’m known for always messing with my friends who are Harvick fans, but I think Kevin Harvick will win his third All-Star race tonight. Already this season, he has four wins. In the All-Star race, Harvick has two wins, four second-place finishes, six top-fives, and twelve top-tens. The driver of the no. 4 Ford Mustang is a two-time winner at Bristol.
Glenn and Brian – Once again, both Brian and Glenn, have chosen Kyle Busch. Busch, who won the 2017 All-Star race at Charlotte Motor Speedway, has yet to win in the 2020 season. The All-Star race being moved to Bristol just might work in his favor. He has won at the short track eight times. In his last two starts at Bristol Motor Speeedway, he finished outside of the top-25, but he’s looking to finally turn the bad luck around.
Timothy – Last, but not least, Timothy’s race day pick is Kurt Busch. He has one All-Star win under his belt which was in 2010. In the same season he proceeded to win the Coca-Cola 600. His last win at this track was in 2018 and in all three races since then he earned top-ten finishes.
