The weekend at Kentucky Speedway was a busy one. First up, was the Xfinity doubleheader.
Doubleheader Part One
Noah Gragson and Ross Chastain led the field to green in the first Xfinity Series race of the weekend.
Before the first lap is complete, Jeb Burton spins and collects Brandon Jones bringing out the first caution.
Gragson leads, but Austin Cindric is on his bumper.
Competition caution is out.
At the green flag, Cindric continues to battle Gragson for the lead. Cindric takes the lead, but can’t hold it. Gragson passes by and wins stage one!
Harrison Burton is penalized for an uncontrolled tire.
Stage two is mostly quiet and Gragson holds on to win stage two.
Third Stage – Race #1
Justin Haley is loose and he chases it up the track. He makes contact with the left rear of the no. 68 Chevrolet Camaro. Brandon Brown spins and the caution is out.
After winning the race off pit road, Haley leads the field back to green. Cindric goes below Haley and takes the lead!
Chastain is in the door of Brett Moffitt and they slide up the track into the wall. They are able to continue, but the caution is out.
At the front, Cindric, Haley and Briscoe are battling for the top spots. Cindric leads, Briscoe follows behind in 2nd, and Haley drops to 3rd.
Cindric is extending the lead, but there’s trouble behind him. Colby Howard in the no. 15 has spun around after making contact with Anthony Alfredo and the caution is out.
On the restart, Briscoe and Cindric are even. Briscoe noses ahead, but Cindric pulls ahead for the lead.
Caution! Harrison Burton has spun out.
The green flag waves and Cindric is off! Austin Cindric wins the Shady Rays 200 at Kentucky Speedway.
As Cindric was coming to the finish line there was a big crash behind him. Ronnie Bassett Jr. crashed into the inside wall hard. Justin Allgaier and others were involved.
After the mandatory trip to the infield care center, Allgaier was taken to a local hospital and was kept there overnight. The following day he made an update saying he was feeling better after the medical team was worried about his heart rate. He was cleared to compete in Friday night’s race.

Doubleheader Part Two
Myatt Snider leads to the green flag to start race two of the Xfinity doubleheader.
Kyle Weatherman is in the wall, but there’s no caution.
Jeremy Clements takes the lead!
Ryan Sieg spins and the caution is out.
Shortly after a battle for the lead between Gragson and Clements, the competition caution is out.
Noah Gragson clears Clements for the lead and wins stage one!
Plot twist! Gragson won the race off pit road, but has been caught speeding. He must start from the rear of the field.
Harrison Burton leads. Cindric moves in on the leader. Burton is loose and it’s just enough for Cindric to take advantage. Austin Cindric is your new leader!
Cindric wins stage two!
Final Laps of Part Two
At the start of stage three he continues to lead, but it wasn’t before a fight against Riley Herbst.
After a round of green flag pit stops, Cindric remains the leader.
Brandon Jones is in the wall and has heavy damage. Caution is out with 22 laps to go.
Daniel Hemric takes the lead at the restart. He gets loose and Cindric takes over.
Gragson is loose and chases it up the track, but Harrison is on his outside. They both make heavy contact with the outside wall, but continue on.
Austin Cindric wins and sweeps the Xfinity doubleheader at Kentucky Speedway!
After climbing out of the cars, Burton found Gragson on pit road. What started as a calm discussion between the two quickly turned into a fight. Burton pushed Gragson and moved closer then Gragson threw a punch on Burton.
